This new pricker has a retractable needle, so when not in use it can be safely stored inside the handle. This is done by undoing the lock wheel on the brass section of the handle. Once the needle is safely inside the handle just a turn back on the locking wheel and the needle is safely stored away. If the needle breaks or bends, simply replace it. 

No more buying a new pricker each time you have a breakage!
